Company History
Many of the principals of Petro Telemetrics Inc. (PTI) formed the core of the very
successful American-Russian telecom company Belcom Inc., which operated throughout
the former Soviet Union in the early to mid-1990s. Belcom was primarily a service
company that developed and operated private satellite and terrestrial communications
circuits and capacity for some of the largest Western ventures operating throughout
the former Soviet Union, including many international oil companies.
After Belcom was sold in the mid-90s, a few key employees decided to focus on the
development of products they knew, from experience, would soon be needed to integrate
more traditional telecommunications with rapidly advancing IP communications. The
result of this development effort is a unique, proprietary telemetry platform ideal
for use by oil and gas companies in the acquisition and transportation of mission-critical
data. The platform has been deployed internationally in security applications and
also formed the basis of an advanced solar powered wireless video system deployed
by NASA.
Today, at the request of former clients, PTI is taking up where our former service
company left off. PTI understands the unique and varying demands our clients face
working in Russia and the CIS: how to work with the various governmental and regulatory
entities and how to address harsh working conditions and severe terrains. We are
confident in our ability to address any obstacle that may arise. PTI combines exceptional
telecom capabilities from its Belcom experience with the results of its development
efforts, and offers its clients peerless integration services.
